WATER-REPELLENT AND ECO-FRIENDLY BAGS
Tretorn has always developed products where form and function interact. With our heritage of 128 years in weather protection, we now continue to progress Scandinavian design and functionality. Let us introduce one of our biggest news for this season: Eco-friendly and water repellent bags!
Simon Fjellner is a designer at Tretorn and is also the creative mind behind the new Tretorn bags. Let’s have a chat with him!
Why did we decide to start making bags?
- It started with the insight that we have been making weather protective gear since 1891. But even if we now make rubber boots, waterproof sneakers, rain jackets and functional jackets, we still wouldn’t have anywhere to keep our belongings dry if it started to rain. So we decided to start making water repellent bags. I mean, imagine a life where you have to limit yourself just because it rains. That wouldn’t be a happy life.
So, tell us about this season’s bags!
- The first line of bags includes two backpack models from our classic Wings family. We also release a roll top backpack and a weekend bag that are both part of our new Malmo family. It’s a line of bags for the smart urban commuter, designed for a life in the city where I live: Malmö, Sweden. Tretorn bags are adapted for a modern life on the move. Whether it's commuting to work, a weekend trip to the countryside or traveling for a city break, there are several features the consumer will discover are well-suited for a modern non-sedentary life.
What makes our bags unique?
- All bags have both a stylish and functional design with several smart features for everyday use. We have made the bags in a heavy water repellent PU fabric that is a bit course, so that the bags get a unique premium feeling. On the bottoms of the bags we have placed a tough waterproof oxford weave, making the bags extra durable when placed on the ground. There are several easy-accessed pockets, as well as protective laptop sleeves. And of course, the inner lining is made from recycled PET bottles which makes the bags a part of our Eco Essentials Initiative.
Thank you, Simon!
